KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Farida Mohd Ali will take over the duties of the director-general of the Public Service Department starting July 1, pending the government's decision to appoint a new director-general.

Datuk Farida Mohd Ali was previously PSD deputy director-general of development
Farida is the department's deputy director-general of development.
Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa, who made the
announcement in a short press release yesterday, also expressed the
government's gratitude and thanks to former director-general Tan Sri Abu
Bakar Abdullah, 57, for his 35 years of service in the public sector.
Meanwhile, Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman, when contacted
yesterday, said he would meet with Ali and Abu Bakar before commenting
on the matter.
